Omya Limestone for Glass Manufacture
The function of Limestone DD in glass manufacture is to render the glass more insoluble so that the glass can be used unrestrictedly in contact with water and chemical solutions. It also improves the mechanical properties of glass by making it less brittle and stronger and improves the appearance of glass by providing a more enduring lustre.

OMYA LIMESTONE DD is a natural crystalline calcium carbonate which is an ideal fluxing material for glass manufacture. LIMESTONE DD fluxes the silica sand and thereby forms chemically fused calcium silicates.
